Login & Passwords

Now that you've signed up for a StockCharts account, how do you get the most out of it? We will cover the basics of maintaining your StockCharts account, including everything from logging in to managing your subscription levels.

Your User ID and Password

Once your StockCharts account has been created, you must log in to begin using it. To do so, you need the following two pieces of information:

  1. Your user ID

  2. Your password

Both should have been sent to you via email immediately after you completed the sign-up process. If you did not receive that email, please contact our Support staff.

You can change your initial password. The password must be between seven and 20 characters in length. It may contain letters, numbers, and/or hyphens.

About Account Security

While we take every precaution to keep the information stored on our servers private, we cannot guarantee that information stored on our website is 100% secure. As a charting service, we strongly recommend that highly valuable information like trading account numbers and passwords should NOT be stored on our website. In addition, we strongly recommend that members not re-use important passwords as their StockCharts password.

Logging In and Logging Out

Logging In

To log in to your account, click on the Log In link in the upper right corner of any of our web pages. You will then be prompted to enter your User ID and password.

On the login page, you can check a checkbox labeled Remember Me. If you do so, we will save your User ID and Password in special “cookies,” which your web browser stores on your computer. Then, the next time you visit StockCharts with that same browser, those cookies will be used to log you in automatically.

If your login attempt is successful, you will see Your Dashboard, which gives you full access to all of our charting and analysis tools.

If you cannot remember your password, you can use our Password Retrieval Page and we will email it to you. If you're still having trouble getting logged in, check out our Login Troubleshooting Guide for more suggestions.

Logging Out

To log out from your account, click your name or the person icon in the upper right corner of any web page, then choose Log Out in the dropdown menu. Logging out is not necessary if you are using a computer that can only be accessed by you, but it is recommended if you are using a shared computer, such as that in a public library.

Note: If you log out manually by clicking the Log Out link, the Remember Me cookies are erased.
