The ChartStyle Library allows you to quickly browse through your own saved ChartStyles, as well as popular ChartStyles provided by StockCharts, in order to find and apply the perfect ChartStyle to your current chart.
From the SharpCharts Workbench, choose "ChartStyle Library" in the panel menu below the chart.
By default, the library shows thumbnail images of the available ChartStyles in Grid View.
Use the Thumbnail Size slider at the top right of the library to change the size of the thumbnails shown.
If you would prefer to see a list of ChartStyle names instead, you can switch to List View using the tabs at the top left of the ChartStyle Library.
Whether you are using Grid View or List View, the process of finding ChartStyles to apply is similar.
Start by selecting the group of styles you want using the "Select Library" dropdown menu at top left.
Members see their own custom ChartStyles by default, but there are other categories of ChartStyles available, including styles built for different trading styles, strategies, timeframes, and asset classes. The Experts category includes ChartStyles developed by charting experts like John Murphy, Larry Williams, and Martin Pring.
You can also search the available ChartStyles by keyword using the "Search ChartStyle Library" box at top right of either Grid View or List View.
Once you have browsed or searched to find the ChartStyle you wish to apply, mouse over the ChartStyle thumbnail image (Grid View) or ChartStyle name (List View), and click the Up Arrow icon to apply the style to the chart that is currently loaded in the SharpCharts Workbench.
In List View, you can preview the ChartStyle before applying it to your chart, by clicking on the ChartStyle name. A preview of the style will be shown on the right side of the ChartStyle Library.
To apply the ChartStyle from List View, either mouse over the ChartStyle name and click the Up Arrow icon, or if you are already previewing the style, just click the green "Apply ChartStyle" button below the preview image.
You can set one of your custom saved ChartStyles to be your default ChartStyle from either Grid View or List View. Make sure you have chosen "Your ChartStyles" in the Select Library dropdown menu at top left. Then simply mouse over the style thumbnail (Grid View) or style name (List View) and click the Star icon to set it as your default.
The Star icon will be solid yellow when viewing the ChartStyle that is currently set as your default.
Note: Only your custom saved ChartStyles can be set as your default style. To set one of the premade ChartStyles as your default, first save it as a custom saved ChartStyle.
You can rename one of your custom saved ChartStyles from List View. Make sure you have chosen "Your ChartStyles" in the Select Library dropdown menu at top left. Then simply mouse over the ChartStyle name in question and click the Pencil icon to change the ChartStyle's name.
In the small window that opens up, type in the new name for the ChartStyle and click the "Update ChartStyle Name" button.
Note: Only your custom saved ChartStyles can be renamed.
To delete one of your custom saved ChartStyles from Grid View or List View, simply mouse over the style thumbnail (Grid View) or style name (List View) and click the red Trashcan icon. You will be prompted to confirm the deletion.
Note: Only your custom saved ChartStyles can be deleted.
