How to Rearrange Charts in a ChartList
Charts in a ChartList are arranged in alphanumeric order based on the charts' names. To change the order of charts in the list, you need to change the chart's names so they will sort in the desired order when they are sorted alphabeticlaly. A quick and easy way to do this is to insert a “code” at the front of each chart's name using numbers or letters. For example, we could prefix chart names with “001,” “002,” “003,” etc. to make sure they are arranged in the order we want when viewing the ChartList.
The in-depth tutorial takes you step-by-step through the process of renaming charts in a ChartList to rearrange them, and provides some helpful tips on choosing the "codes" to add at the beginning of chart names.
Tutorial: Rearranging the Order of Charts in a ChartList
In this step-by-step tutorial, we'll rearrange a short ChartList, so that the charts are shown in the order we expect (large caps, mid caps, then small caps).
Step 1: Open the ChartList in Edit View
To start, you'll need to open your ChartList in “Edit” mode. Go to the “Your ChartLists” section of Your Dashboard, then select “Edit List” from the “View As” dropdown next to the ChartList you want to rearrange.

Step 2: Click the Pencil Icon Next to a Chart's Name
Notice that the list is sorted by name, and the order of the charts is: Mid, Small, and Large caps. We want to display it as Large, Mid, then Small caps.
To rename the charts, hover over the first chart name you want to change, and click the pencil icon that appears.

Step 3: Add a Prefix to the Chart's Name
Once you click the pencil icon, the chart name will be editable. Type in a prefix (in this example, we're adding "001 - " at the beginning of the $SPX chart name). Press Enter or click outside the editing box to save the changes to the chart's name.

Repeat these steps with the other two charts on the list, adding "002 - " to the $MID chart and "003 - " to the $SML chart.
Important: Make sure your number has at least 3 digits, including leading zeros.
Power Tip: If you're unsure of the order you want your charts in, use numbers with additional zeros at the end (e.g., 0010, 0020, etc.). Leaving unused numbers (0011-0019, etc.) between each chart will allow you to reorder your charts more efficiently in the future.
Step 4: Sort the ChartList By Name
Once these changes to the chart names have been made, the charts will be shown in the expected order (Large, Mid, and Small Caps) when they are sorted by name anywhere on the site. Below we are viewing the ChartList in Summary View. The table is sorted by name, and now the charts are shown in the desired order.
