The charts you create in StockChartsACP can be saved into ChartLists, online “folders” that allow you to store up to 1000 charts in a single list. ChartLists allow you to group and organize your collections of saved charts for easy access. See clickable demo below.

Note: Basic members can have one ChartList, Extra members can have up to 250 different ChartLists, and Pro members can have 500.

How To Create StockChartsACP ChartLists

  • Click the ChartLists panel icon at the top right of the screen.

  • Click the green New ChartList button at the bottom of the ChartLists panel.

You'll see a Create New ChartList popup, prompting you to name your ChartList. You can also add notes about the ChartList here. Once you've filled out these fields, click the Create New ChartList button to create the list.

Your newly created ChartList will be displayed in the ChartLists panel on the right side of your screen.

Saving Charts to StockChartsACP ChartLists

Once you've created your ChartList, you can start saving charts to it. Each ChartList can store up to 1000 charts.

Note: If you are using a multi-chart layout, click on the chart you want to save before starting the save process. The selected chart will have a green border around the edge.

Saving a New Chart

If you're working with a chart that has yet to be saved to a ChartList, you will see a Save button at the top of the screen.

Click the Save button. You will be prompted to provide a name for your chart and choose the ChartList where you want your chart to be saved. You can also add notes about the chart here.

Modifying an Existing Saved Chart

If you're working with a chart that has already been saved to a ChartList, it'll display as Saved.

When you make changes to a saved chart in StockChartsACP, instead of Saved, you'll see Not Saved in yellow. In the ChartList, the unsaved chart will be highlighted in yellow.

Click the Not Saved button and select Save in the Save Chart popup.

Saving an Existing Saved Chart as a New Chart

StockChartsACP allows you to move a chart to a different ChartList and save a copy of an existing saved chart in a new location.

Extra and Pro members can open an existing chart and save it to a different ChartList (Basic members have only one ChartList).

To save a copy of an existing saved chart in a new ChartList, click the Saved button at the top of the screen. Select Save As New in the Save Chart popup, then choose the ChartList. Make any updates to the chart name or notes, then click the green Save Chart button.

To move the chart to another ChartList, select the Move button in the Save Chart popup, then select the ChartList where you wish it to reside.

Note: You can also save a copy of an existing saved chart to the same ChartList using the same instructions, as long as the names of the two charts are different. To do this, retain the same ChartList selected but change the chart name so it's different from the original saved chart. Then click the green Save button.

Adding Multiple Charts at Once

In addition to saving charts one at a time, StockChartsACP allows you to add charts for multiple symbols to a ChartList quickly. You can enter a comma-separated list of symbols or add all the symbols from a predefined group, such as the S&P 500 or stocks in the Auto Parts industry.

You can also import the SharpCharts from an existing SharpCharts ChartList into a new StockChartsACP ChartList with a single click.

Viewing Your Saved Charts in StockChartsACP

Using the ChartLists Panel

To view a StockChartsACP chart that you have saved to a ChartList, click on the ChartLists icon at the top of the Symbol Selection menu on the right. This will open a panel showing your saved charts.

Click a symbol on the list to launch that saved chart. Once you select a chart, you can navigate through the charts in the ChartList using your mouse or the up and down arrow keys on your keyboard.

Sort the list by clicking on one of the headers at the top.

To view a different ChartList, click the arrow icon next to the ChartList name to see the dropdown menu of your ChartLists. Then, select the desired ChartList.

Loading Saved Charts with a Different ChartStyle

When you click on a symbol on your ChartList, your saved chart for that symbol will be loaded by default. Sometimes, it can be helpful to view a chart for that symbol using a different ChartStyle. For example, if the saved charts on your ChartList are all daily charts, and you want to browse through weekly charts for those symbols, you'll want to use a different ChartStyle.

To do this, change the displayed chart (it doesn't need to be one of the saved charts) to match the weekly style you want. Then, check the Load Symbol Only checkbox at the top of the ChartList. After making these changes, click on symbols in your ChartList as usual. Each chart will be displayed in the weekly style you set up in the first step.

Note: This functionality temporarily loads the chart in a different ChartStyle; the style of your saved chart remains unchanged.

To go back to loading the saved versions of your ChartList charts, simply uncheck the Load Symbol Only checkbox.

Using the List Drawer

To explore different ways to view your ChartLists, click the bright blue Open ChartList Drawer button at the bottom of the ChartLists panel or the Open Drawer icon in the bottom right corner of StockChartsACP. Either button opens a new panel at the bottom of the screen.

At the top of the drawer are three tabs—ChartLists, Options, and Sector Summary. At the extreme right are icons to minimize or expand the drawer height.

The ChartLists Tab

At the top is a dropdown menu from which you can select a ChartList. Arrows to the right of the dropdown menu allow you to scroll through the charts in the ChartList.

At the extreme right are buttons to add charts, edit chart names, delete, or create new ChartLists.

Below the ChartList selection menu are several tabs—Summary, Performance, Chart Comments, List Notes, and Edit.

The Summary tab displays a tabular view of your ChartList. Here, you'll see the sector, industry, last price, price change, percentage change, volume, market cap, SCTR data, universe, next earnings date, last earnings date, earnings per share (EPS), and price/earnings (P/E) data for all ticker symbols in the selected ChartList. By clicking on the column header, you can sort each column in descending or ascending order.

Click on a symbol to launch the saved chart. Once you have selected a chart, you can navigate through the charts in the ChartList.

The Performance tab displays a tabular view of your ChartList, showing price performance for those symbols across multiple timeframes, ranging from one day to one year. The list can be sorted by clicking on one of the headers at the top of the table. Click on a symbol to launch that saved chart. Once a chart has been selected, you can navigate through the charts in the ChartList.

The Chart Comments tab displays any notes you have added to a saved chart on your list. Use the Select Chart dropdown menu to select the chart with the comments you want to see. You can also add/edit chart comments from this location.

The List Notes tab displays any notes you have added about your ChartList. You can also add/edit ChartList notes from this location.

Note: When the List Drawer is first opened, it will occupy the lower half of the chart area. To change its height, place your mouse between the bottom of the chart panel and the top of the drawer. When your cursor changes to an up/down arrow, click and drag up or down to change the height of the drawer.

When the drawer is open, the Open Drawer icon in the bottom right corner of ACP becomes the Close Drawer icon. Click it to close the drawer completely.

Viewing Saved SharpCharts in StockChartsACP

You can also view your saved SharpCharts from within StockChartsACP. Simply open the ChartLists panel and click the SharpCharts button at the top.

When you click on one of the charts in the list, a StockChartsACP equivalent of your saved SharpChart will be launched in StockChartsACP. The following are a few caveats:

  • Only SharpCharts can be viewed; any PerfCharts or P&F Charts saved to your ChartLists will not be available from this panel.

  • Any annotations saved to your SharpChart will not be displayed on the chart.

  • The StockChartsACP and SharpCharts versions of the chart may have slight variations depending on the availability of indicators and other chart settings across the two platforms.

  • SharpCharts cannot be edited or saved from within StockChartsACP, although you can save a copy of the chart displayed to a StockChartsACP ChartList.

Note: You can also access SharpCharts lists from the drawer; they are listed after ACP lists in the dropdown list selection menu at the top of the drawer.

Importing SharpCharts Lists To StockChartsACP

In addition to saving single SharpCharts in StockChartsACP format, you can also import an entire SharpCharts ChartList into a StockChartsACP ChartList. The same caveats listed above for viewing single SharpCharts also apply to importing multiple SharpCharts.

To import a SharpCharts list, select the list in the ChartLists panel in StockChartsACP, then click the green Save as ACP ChartList button at the bottom of the panel. There is also a Save as ACP ChartList button available in the drawer.

A popup will open, prompting you to provide a name for the new StockChartsACP version of the ChartList. You can also add notes about the ChartList here. Once you've filled out these fields, click the Create New ChartList button to complete the import.

Modifying StockChartsACP ChartLists

To edit the properties of a StockChartsACP ChartList or to delete a StockChartsACP ChartList, click the grey Edit ChartList button at the bottom of the ChartLists panel. This will open the List Drawer and show the Edit tab.

Note: When the List Drawer is first opened, it will occupy the lower half of the chart area. To change its height, place your mouse between the bottom of the chart panel and the top of the drawer. When your cursor changes to an up/down arrow, click and drag up or down to change the height of the drawer.

Editing the ChartList Name

To change the name of a ChartList, click the grey Edit Name button at the top right of the Edit tab. Enter the new ChartList name and click the green Save Changes button.

Editing the ChartList Notes

To edit the notes associated with your ChartList, click on the List Notes tab in the List Drawer. Make any changes to the notes, then click the green Save Notes button.

Deleting StockChartsACP ChartLists

StockChartsACP ChartLists can be deleted from the Edit tab in the List Drawer. Ensure the correct list is selected in the dropdown menu at the top of the drawer. Then, click the red trash can button. You will be prompted to confirm that you want to delete the list.

Note: When you delete a list, all the saved charts on that list are also deleted.

Modifying Charts on a ChartList Using the Edit Tab

From the Edit tab in the List Drawer, you can add, edit, move, or delete multiple charts on your StockChartsACP ChartLists.

Adding Charts from the Edit Tab

To quickly add one or many charts to your ChartList in StockChartsACP, open the ChartLists panel, choose the ChartList you want to add, and click the dark blue Add Symbols button at the bottom.

Note: You can also access this functionality by opening the list drawer, selecting the ChartList, and clicking the dark blue Add Symbols button there.

In the popup window, you have four choices—Add One, Add Multiple, From Group, and Upload CSV.

On the Add One tab, you can add charts one symbol at a time by entering the ticker symbol and, optionally, a chart name and comments. When done, click the green Add Symbols button at the bottom. A chart with your default ChartStyle will be added to the ChartList for that symbol.

On the Add Multiple tab, you can add charts for multiple symbols at once. Enter the ticker symbols, separated by commas. When you're done, click the green Add Symbols button at the bottom. For each symbol on the list, a chart with your default ChartStyle will be added to the ChartList. A generic chart name will be used for each chart.

On the From Group tab, you can add all the symbols from a specific group or industry to your ChartList. Select the group from the Predefined Groups dropdown menu to add group members, then click the Add Symbols button.

To add members of an industry group, select the country (US or Canada), choose the industry from the Industry Groups dropdown, and click the Add Symbols button. For each symbol in the group, a chart with your default ChartStyle will be added to the ChartList. A generic chart name will be used for each chart.

On the Upload CSV tab, you can upload a csv file. After selecting the file, click the Add Symbols button.

Note: Each ChartList can contain a maximum of 1000 charts. If a group or industry includes more than 1000 symbols, only the first 1000 will be added to your ChartList.

Editing Chart Names and Notes

To edit the name and notes for your saved charts in StockChartsACP, open the ChartLists panel, choose the ChartList where the charts have been saved, and click the grey Edit List button at the bottom. This will open the List Drawer and show the Edit tab.

Click the pencil icon next to any saved charts to update the name and/or comments. Once you have made your changes, click the green Save Chart button.

Note: Like SharpCharts, StockChartsACP charts are displayed alphabetically by default based on the chart name. You can quickly and easily control the default order in which your charts appear by including a numeric code at the front of each chart's name. Many ChartList views within StockChartsACP also allow you to sort the list by symbol, price, or other fields.

Applying Chart Settings to Multiple Saved Charts

To apply a chart setting to multiple saved charts in StockChartsACP, open the ChartLists panel, choose the ChartList where the charts have been saved, and click the grey Edit List button at the bottom. This will open the List Drawer and show the Edit tab.

Check the boxes next to any charts you want to apply the new Chart Template, then click the purple Apply Chart Settings button at the bottom of the drawer. A popup will open, prompting you to choose the new Chart Settings.

Select the desired Chart Template and click the green Update Settings button to change the style of your selected charts.

Moving, Copying, and Merging Saved Charts

To copy, move, or merge your saved charts into a different StockChartsACP ChartList, open the ChartLists panel, choose the ChartList where the charts have been saved, and click the grey Edit List button at the bottom. This will open the List Drawer and show the Edit tab.

Check the button next to any charts you want to copy, move, or merge. Three blue buttons at the bottom of the drawer allow you to choose the action you want to take:

  • Copy Charts. The first button will copy the selected charts from the current ChartList to another ChartList you choose. The copied charts will then exist in both current and target ChartLists.

  • Move Charts. The second button will remove the selected charts from the current ChartList and move them to another ChartList you choose. The moved charts will then exist in only the target ChartList.

  • Merge Charts. The third button will copy the selected charts from the current ChartList to another ChartList you choose. This differs from the “Copy To” functionality in that the chart will not be copied to the target ChartList if a chart for that symbol already exists in the target ChartList.

The steps for each are essentially the same. Check the box next to each chart you want to act on, then click the appropriate blue button at the bottom of the drawer. Select the target ChartList, then click the green button to proceed with copying/moving/merging the selected charts.

Deleting Saved Charts

Saved charts can be deleted from the List Drawer in StockChartsACP. Open the ChartLists panel, choose the ChartList where the chart has been saved, and click the grey Edit List button at the bottom of the panel. This will open the List Drawer and show the Edit tab.

To delete a single chart, find it in the List Drawer and click the trash can icon next to it. You will be prompted to confirm that you want to delete the chart.

To delete multiple charts, check the box next to each chart you wish to delete, then click the red Delete button (with a trash can icon) at the bottom of the drawer. You will be prompted to confirm that you want to delete the selected charts.
