The ChartList Summary allows you to see summary info for all the saved charts in a ChartList at once. It is essentially the same as Summary View, but allows you to view the info directly from the SharpCharts Workbench. This way, you can view the summary data and load a saved chart from the list, all in one place.
From the SharpCharts Workbench, choose "ChartList Summary" in the panel menu below the chart.
Use the Select ChartList dropdown menu at the top of the panel to choose the ChartList you'd like to see summary data for. Each symbol on the list will be displayed in the ChartList Summary table.
Once the ChartList has been selected, each symbol on that list will be displayed in the ChartList Summary table.
By default, the ChartList Summary is sorted by saved chart name, but it can be handy to sort the ChartList by percentage change, SCTR ranking, or other performance metrics, to find the best-performing security on the list. To sort by a different column, simply click the double-arrow icon in the column header. Click the icon again to sort in the opposite direction.
Cool Tip: You can also search your saved charts by keyword using the "Search ChartList Summary" box at top right of the panel.
To load one of the saved charts from the ChartList Summary in the workbench, simply click on that symbol in the Symbol column of the table.
When you click on a symbol on your ChartList, your saved chart for that symbol will be loaded by default. Sometimes, it can be helpful to view a chart for that symbol using a different ChartStyle. For example, if the saved charts on your ChartList are all daily charts, and you want to browse through weekly charts for those symbols, you'll want to use a different ChartStyle.
To do this, change the displayed chart (it doesn't need to be one of the saved charts) to match the weekly style you want. Then, check the Load Symbol Only checkbox at the top of the ChartList. After making these changes, click on any of the symbols in your ChartList as usual. Each chart will be displayed in the weekly style you set up in the first step.
Note: This functionality temporarily loads the chart in a different ChartStyle; the style of your saved chart remains unchanged.
To go back to loading the saved versions of your ChartList charts, simply uncheck the Load Symbol Only checkbox.
The Summary table initially shows intraday data. However, you can use the Period dropdown above the table to display performance data for the symbols over a different time period, ranging from one day to one year.
Click the Columns button above the table to hide or show columns in the table. A wide variety of symbol properties, performance metrics, and fundamental data points are available.
While the Load Symbol Only checkbox allows you to temporarily change the ChartStyle for saved charts, the ChartList Summary also allows you to permanently change the ChartStyle of multiple saved charts on your ChartList at once.
To do this, change the displayed chart (it doesn't need to be one of the saved charts) to match the style you want. Then, check the checkbox in the leftmost column for each of the charts you want to update to the new style. Once you've selected the charts you want to update, click the Apply ChartStyle button at the top of the panel. You will be prompted to confirm the style change.
Warning: Changing the Period setting of a saved chart could wipe out any annotations saved to that chart. Use caution if the ChartStyle you are applying has a different Period setting than the saved charts. To change all the settings of the chart except the Period, make sure the "Ignore Chart Period" checkbox is checked when confirming the change.
The ChartList Summary provides quick access to summary ChartList data directly from the SharpCharts Workbench, but if you would like to explore the saved charts on your list using other ChartList views, you can use the View As button at the top of the panel to launch the currently-selected ChartList in any of our available ChartList views, including the full Summary View.
The selected view will be launched in a new browser tab or window.
