StockCharts.com provides tons of high-quality online educational resources for learning more about charting, technical analysis and using our analysis tools.
is a special area of our website containing a large number of educational articles that cover various aspects of Technical Analysis.
To access ChartSchool, simply click on “ChartSchool” in the menu at the top of any of our pages. You can also use our Site Search feature to find relevant ChartSchool articles on a specific topic. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the top right of any of our pages, enter your search term(s) in the box that pops up and press “Search.” At the top of the results page, select “ChartSchool Articles” in the dropdown menu to refresh the page with ChartSchool-specific results.
We have a large number of Instructional Videos that demonstrate how to use various aspects of our website. You can find a link to our instructional videos on the right side of our Charts & Tools page.
In addition, we strongly recommend that all StockCharts members watch our "Getting Started with StockCharts.com" video as soon as they activate their account.
In addition to our various market commentary blogs (discussed here), we also publish a blog dedicated to helping you learn more about charting, chart analysis and using the analysis tools on StockCharts.com, titled “StockCharts In Focus.”
Typically published once per trading week, content in “StockCharts In Focus” covers one useful feature or tool from StockCharts. The content is entertaining and educational and spurs thought and exploration; however, as with everything else on StockCharts.com, you won't find buy or sell recommendations.
Connecting with other StockCharts users is a great way to get questions you have answered. The StockCharts Answer Network (s.c.a.n. for short) is a free user-maintained message board/forum where members can ask for help from other members.
Examples of questions that s.c.a.n. is great at answering include:
How do I create a particular kind of custom technical scan?
What's the best way to trade the current market?
Which online brokerage website is best?
Can anyone help me fix my computer?
What are the possible tax implications of selling now?
etc., etc., etc.
These are examples of questions that the StockCharts Support team cannot answer because they go beyond the scope of the StockCharts.com website.
On the other hand, there are some categories of questions that s.c.a.n. can't answer, including:
What's my password?
Can you add this feature?
Why is my account screwed up?
How much does it cost to upgrade my account?
etc., etc., etc.
Those questions have to do with your specific account situation, which is something the members on s.c.a.n. do not have access to.
To access the s.c.a.n. board, just visit this link: https://scan.stockcharts.com.
Note that while s.c.a.n. is focused on discussing StockCharts.com issues, it is independent from StockCharts.com. Your StockCharts.com account cannot be used to log in to s.c.a.n.; you must create a new, independent s.c.a.n. account in order to contribute to s.c.a.n., even if you already have a StockCharts.com account.
