Market Summary

Designed by Grayson Roze, our new Market Summary brings together the charts, tools, and reports needed to quickly analyze the markets. It covers the Equities market in-depth, plus includes sections focused on intermarket analysis and on the Bonds, Commodities, and Currencies markets.

Accessing the Market Summary

You can access the Market Summary from the following areas:

• The Member Tools or Market Overview areas of Your Dashboard

• The Research Tools section of the Charts & Tools page.

Note: Only logged-in members can access and use the Market Summary.

Using the Market Summary

Navigating Around the Market Summary

The charts and tools on the Market Summary page are organized based on the asset class they are used to analyze. Buttons at the top of the Market Summary allow you to quickly jump to the Equities, Intermarket, Bonds, Commodities, or Currencies analysis sections of the page.

Use the nav bar buttons to move around in the Market Summary.

As you scroll down to the different sections, the navigation bar stays visible at the top of the screen.

Cool Tip: The nav bar also includes an Auto-Refresh checkbox. When checked, it will automatically refresh the data on the Market Summary during market hours.

Choosing a Timeframe

The Timeframe dropdown menu on the nav bar allows you to set the range shown in the mini-charts at the top of the Market Summary. The timeframe setting is also used to calculate the Change and Percent Change values shown in tables throughout the Market Summary.

The Timeframe dropdown menu allows you to analyze the market in different timeframes.

The available timeframes cover everything from today's trading data to the previous year's trading data.

Note: The "Today" timeframe covers today's data through the close (or through the latest bar during market hours). The "EOD" timeframe covers the latest completed trading day's data (so it will show yesterday's data during market hours and today's data after the market closes).

Launching Related Charts and Tools

Many of the sections in the Market Summary contain links and buttons that launch relevant charts and tools for your market analysis.

Links and buttons throughout the Market Summary give access to helpful market analysis charts and tools.

The Charts button at the top right of many Market Summary sections will launch a collection of charts that are relevant for that particular section (for example, in the screenshot above, the Charts button would take you to helpful charts about intermarket analysis. Members can save these collections of charts to their own ChartLists by clicking the green Save to ChartList button above the collection.

Cool Tip: The yellow Info button next to the Charts button in each section provides helpful tips about how to use the charts, tools, and data in that section.
