# Presentation Mode

Presentation Mode is a tool that allows you to display the saved charts in one of your ChartLists as a slideshow presentation. This mode uses our High Definition Charts, making the charts crisp, clear, and easy for your audience to see during a presentation.

## Accessing Presentation Mode

You can launch Presentation Mode from either ChartList or ChartBook View. Just load the ChartList you want to use in one of these views, and then click the blue Presentation button at top right.

<figure><img src="https://2414490151-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FELJo6JImRKx7nLaFjAPl%2Fuploads%2FPcY04o148rP2rc8pU7QF%2Fpresmodebutton.png?alt=media&amp;token=c692dbd5-a2e7-4839-9f12-c6a027e4ce4a" alt=""><figcaption><p>Presentation Mode can be launched from ChartBook View or ChartList View.</p></figcaption></figure>

## Navigating Through the Presentation

Depending on whether you are coming from ChartList View or ChartBook View, the slideshow will either start with the first chart on the list, or the chart you were currently viewing when you launched Presentation Mode. The saved chart's name is shown above the chart, and any chart comments you have added are shown below the chart.

You can navigate from one chart to the next in Presentation Mode in a number of different ways:

* Clicking the Previous and Next arrows at the left and right sides of the screen.
* Using the left and right arrows on the keyboard.
* Using the up and down arrows on the keyboard.
* Using the Backspace and Space keys on the keyboard.

## Resizing the Charts in Presentation Mode

There are several ways to change the size of the chart or zoom in on a specific section of the chart during your presentation, using the buttons at the top right of the screen or using keyboard shortcuts.

<figure><img src="https://2414490151-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FELJo6JImRKx7nLaFjAPl%2Fuploads%2FLhWEKlRhQEk3tJg3zjSt%2Fpresmodezoom.png?alt=media&amp;token=bc45c269-fb0c-455a-8c95-7a9ee87a3d3d" alt=""><figcaption><p>Zooming and Full Screen buttons are at the top right in Presentation Mode.</p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Note:** These buttons are automatically hidden with inactivity, so that they do not interfere with the presentation. If the buttons are not currently visible, wiggle your mouse to show them again.
{% endhint %}

### Viewing Full Screen

When you are presenting, you can switch to Full Screen mode so that the slides take up your entire computer screen. To enter Full Screen mode, simply click the **Full Screen** button to the right of the Help button. Click it again or press the **Esc** key to exit Full Screen mode.

### Zooming In and Out

The **+** and **-** buttons at top right can be used to incrementally zoom the chart in and out. The number shown between the two buttons indicates the current amount of zooming. You can also zoom in and out using the scroll wheel on your mouse.

To quickly fit the chart to the window size, press **W** to fit it to the width of the window, **H** to fit it to the height, or **F** to fit in both directions.

### Zooming to a Specific Area

While zoomed in, you can click and drag the chart with your mouse to reposition the chart on the screen.

If you already know exactly which portion of the chart you want to zoom in on, you can both zoom and position in one move. To zoom to a specific area of the chart, hold the Shift key down, then click and drag to draw a box around the specific region of the chart to display zoomed in. When you release the mouse, the chart will be zoomed in on the selected area.

### Resetting the Chart Size

To reset the chart to the default amount of zoom, click the **Reset** button at top right (between the Full Screen and Exit buttons). Double-clicking on the chart or pressing the zero key will also reset the chart to its default size.

## Using Presenter Tools

Presentation Mode offers three different tools to help presenters point out specific features on their charts: Crosshairs, Laser Pointer, and Spotlight. These tools can be accessed using the buttons at the left side of the screen.

<figure><img src="https://2414490151-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FELJo6JImRKx7nLaFjAPl%2Fuploads%2FH9KKIxPuL3aJXpvhhHAt%2Fpresmodetools.png?alt=media&amp;token=bb3176ec-f66d-4b96-81fd-1fdfc6697da7" alt=""><figcaption><p>Presenter Tools buttons are at top left in Presentation Mode</p></figcaption></figure>

The top three buttons launch, from top to bottom, Crosshairs, Laser Pointer, and Spotlight tools. Click the button a second time to turn that presenter tool off. The Gears icon beneath those buttons is used to configure the presenter tools.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.stockcharts.com/charts-and-tools/sharpcharts/chartlists/presentation-mode.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
